India reports 2,897 new covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours.

India has reported 2,897 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, an increase of 26% in daily cases, according to updated government data on Wednesday.

The country has 54 deaths, with a death toll of 5,24,157.

With 2,986 people recovering in the last 24 hours, the number of patients recovering from the disease has risen to 4,25,66,935.

4,72,190 tests for Covid detection have been conducted in India in the last 24 hours. According to the government, a total of 84.19 crore tests have been conducted in the country so far.

Beneficiaries aged 18-59 were given a total of 38,476 precautionary doses up to 7 pm, bringing the total number of medicines administered to this age group to 11,78,161, according to ministry data. In addition, the first dose of the Govt vaccine has been given to more than 3.08 crore children aged 12-14 years.

So far 190.67 crore vaccines have been distributed under the nationwide vaccination drive.
