Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Phase 2
The second phase of the 18th Lok Sabha elections is happening today, with 88 constituencies voting across 13 states and union territories. A total of 1,200 candidates are competing, including 4 candidates from Outer Manipur.
By 3 PM, 50.3% of voters had cast their votes across 13 states and union territories. Manipur, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Assam, and Tripura had over 53% voter turnout, while Maharashtra had the lowest, with just over 31%.
By 5 PM, 60.7% of voters had cast their votes across 13 states and union territories. Manipur, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Assam, and Tripura had a voter turnout of over 70%, while Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Maharashtra had the lowest turnouts at 52.6%, 53%, and 53.5% respectively.
The first phase of the elections, out of a total of seven stages, took place last Friday, with voting for 102 seats across 21 states and Union territories. The voter turnout for this phase was about 65.5%.
The third phase of elections for 94 seats in 12 states and Union territories will take place on May 7. The votes will be counted on June 4.
