CCTV shows the Rameswaram hotel blast suspect sitting inside for 9 minutes

The person who bombed a famous cafe in Bengaluru last week was inside for nine minutes before leaving, as seen in new CCTV footage.

A recent video shows a man wearing sunglasses, a mask, and a baseball cap walking from the bus station towards Rameswaram Cafe. At 11:34 a.m. on Friday in Brookfield, Bengaluru, he was seen entering a hotel while talking on his mobile phone.

Additional footage shows the suspect leaving the cafe at 11:43 a.m. As soon as he arrives, he walks hurriedly. According to CCTV sources, the man was only in the Rameswaram hotel for nine minutes.

He left a bag containing an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) inside the cafe. 10 people including hotel staff were injured in the blast.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is now handling the case. Before, the Bengaluru Police had filed a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Explosives Substances Act related to the cafe explosion. Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara mentioned, "We're still investigating. Eight teams are working on various aspects, looking in different directions. We've gathered several CCTV footage."

"We're unsure if there's a link to the Mangaluru blast. They employed similar materials and the same technical system. The National Security Guards (NSG) came here yesterday. We're determined to identify the individual. We had a meeting and updated the Chief Minister," he said.

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar mentioned that they've spotted the suspect on CCTV, and as per his information, the person is approximately 28 to 30 years old.

Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara, ensuring a prompt arrest of the suspect, mentioned earlier that they had obtained 40-50 CCTV recordings of the explosion.
