Indian Government Urges Citizens at Israel Border to Move to Safer Areas.

Following the death of a man from Kerala and injuries to two others in a missile strike near the Israel-Lebanon border, the government has told Indians to move to safer areas in Israel.

Due to the current security conditions and local safety recommendations, the Indian embassy in Israel is advising all Indian citizens, especially those working or visiting border areas in the north and south, to move to safer places within Israel. The embassy is staying connected with Israeli authorities to make sure that our citizens stay safe.

In the Israel-Hamas war, a man from Kerala's Kollam lost his life in a missile strike in north Israel's Margaliot yesterday, marking the first Indian casualty. The Israel embassy in India stated this morning that two others, also from Kerala, were hurt in the "cowardly" attack by Hezbollah. The person who died in the strike was Pat Nibin Maxwell, and the injured individuals were Paul Melvin and Bush Joseph George from Idukki.

At the moment of the missile strike, the three individuals were working on a plantation, as mentioned in the statement. The Israel embassy expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and the injured, extending their prayers. The embassy assured that Israeli medical facilities are fully available to provide treatment, and the injured are receiving care from our top-notch medical personnel. Israel emphasizes equal regard for all individuals, whether Israeli or foreign, who suffer injuries or lose their lives due to terrorism. The embassy pledged to support the affected families and offer assistance.

Israel's ambassador to India, Naor Gilon, shared that he talked to the brother of the Kerala man who died in the missile strike. In a post on X, he expressed his sincere condolences to the family and assured them that Israel would support them in every possible way.

The embassy also provided a helpline number and an email address in its post for help and clarification. You can reach them at +972-35226748 or email them at consl.telaviv@mea.gov.in.
