Nithari serial killings case: 17 years after the Delhi murders, the two accused were acquitted.

In the Nithari case, which was one of the most horrifying incidents in 2006, the Allahabad High Court on Monday acquitted the main suspects, Surinder Koli and Moninder Singh Pandher.

The Allahabad High Court acquitted Kohli in 12 cases in which he was sentenced to death.

The court also cleared Pandher of the charges in the two cases against him. According to their lawyer, the two men were acquitted because of "not enough evidence." The complete court decision has not yet been made public.

The serial murders happened at Moninder Pandher's house in the Nithari region of Noida, Uttar Pradesh, between 2005 and 2006.

Surinder Koli was employed as a domestic worker at Pandher's house, which was nicknamed the "house of horrors" following the disclosures. Allegedly, Koli enticed the children into the house, where he and Pandher reportedly raped and killed them.

According to the police, they would dismember the children's bodies and discard the parts in drains to eliminate the evidence.

The body parts of a missing child were found in a drain near Panther's home, prompting a massive investigation that uncovered the identities of more victims. The disturbing allegations of murder, mutilation, and cannibalism captured the nation's attention for weeks and months.

Police stated that there were numerous ghastly killings of several more children, prompting the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to take charge of the case. In 2007, the CBI registered 19 cases against Pandher and Koli.

Surinder Kohli was seen as legally guilty of assaulting and murdering a few children at his manager's house. Kohli had previously admitted to having sex with the dead and eating their body parts.

According to local residents, the police did not take action because many of the missing children belonged to low-income families residing in a nearby slum known as Nithari. The case is also known as the "Nithari killings."
