Israeli Prime Minister Makes First Visit to Site of Hamas Attack, One Week After the Incident
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Kibbutz Be’eri and Kibbutz Kfar Azza. His office announced the visit after he left the area.
A brief statement says Netanyahu "walked among the destroyed houses where the terrible killings happened."
The prime minister received updates from IDF officers, including the head of the paratrooper battalion, who were present there.
Netanyahu visited the site for the first time, over a week after the killings that resulted in the death of over 1,300 Israelis, mainly civilians, due to Hamas breaching the border.
Netanyahu has faced more and more criticism for not going to the scene, attending funerals, or visiting the injured.
