5 killed as speeding car rams into an ambulance on Mumbai's Bandra-Worli Sea Link




Five people were dead and 13 injured when a speeding car rammed into the accident site on the Bandra-Worli sea link in Mumbai in the early hours of Wednesday. 



A speeding car collided with an ambulance and three other vehicles and a car involved in an earlier accident. On getting the information, the police rushed to the spot and are engaged in rescue and recovery operations. Police took the injured to the hospital with the help of local people. ANI reports that the condition of many people is critical.


The accident took place around 3 am between pole numbers 76 and 78 on the southern boundary of the sea link bridge that connects Bandra in the western suburbs to Worli in south Mumbai.


The road from Bandra to Worli has been closed after the accident.


"A total of 13 people were injured in the Bandra Worli sea link road accident. Out of which 5 died and 8 are under treatment," Mumbai Police said, ANI reported.


"Saddened by the loss of life in the Bandra-Worli sea link accident in Mumbai. Condolences to the bereaved families. Hope the injured recover quickly," the Prime Minister's Office tweeted.
