4 people died and 10 were injured in a terrible fire in a hotel in Lucknow, CM Yogi meets those injured



Four people were killed and 10 injured in a massive fire that broke out in a hotel in Hazratganj  area of Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow on Monday morning. 15 fire tenders and 13 ambulances have rushed to the spot and are trying to douse the fire.


When a fire broke out at Hotel Levana in Lucknow, several guests and staff were trapped inside. Emergency workers broke the windows of the hotel with steel bars to rescue the trapped people. Rescuing people trapped in hotel rooms is underway.


The fire broke out on the third floor of the hotel. About 35 to 40 people were inside the hotel when heavy clouds of smoke were seen billowing out of the hotel early Monday morning.


The injured were rushed to the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Civil Hospital in Lucknow, where four were declared brought dead and 10 are undergoing treatment for severe burns.


"10 injured people have been brought to the hospital and are being treated. The administration will inform about the casualties," Lucknow Chief Medical Officer Manoj Aggarwal said.


Lucknow District Magistrate Suryapal Gangwar said that the fire is suspected to be due to a short circuit, although the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.


Condoling the incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered the administration to carry out rescue operations. He ordered that all facilities be provided to the injured and prayed for their speedy recovery.


The fire at the hotel in the capital city Lucknow is very sad. The concerned officials have been directed to reach the spot immediately and carry out relief and rescue operations quickly and provide all assistance to the affected people. I pray to Lord Ram for the speedy recovery of the injured,” the Chief Minister said in his tweet.



Lucknow MP and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh condoled the incident. He tweeted that his office is in constant touch with the administration and is taking updates on rescue and relief operations.
