PM Modi inaugurates Bundelkhand Expressway

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the 296-km-long Bundelkhand Expressway, which passes through seven districts of Uttar Pradesh.

Built at a cost of around Rs 14,850 crore, the project was planned to bring seamless connectivity to the Bundelkhand region.

It is off the NH-35 at Gonda village near Bharatkoop in Chitrakoot district near Kudrail village in Etawah district, where it joins the Agra-Lucknow Expressway.

The four-lane expressway passes through seven districts of Chitrakoot, Banda, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Auraiya and Etawah.

In his inauguration speech, PM Modi said that the BJP government is not restricting development to cities and slammed the 'reveri' culture of offering freebies and asking for votes.

Talking about the development of UP, Prime Minister Modi said, "If we fix two things, law and order situation, and connectivity, then I know it will become a state that can fight all odds. We have improved both. The law and order situation is improving. , connectivity is also there."

The Bundelkhand Expressway has reduced the distance from Chitrakoot to Delhi by three-four hours, but the benefits are more than that, he said.

"This expressway will not only give speed to vehicles but also speed up the industrial development of entire Bundelkhand," he said.

The prime minister warned people, especially the youth, against the "revari culture" and said it was "very dangerous" for the country's development.

Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's administration, Uttar Pradesh is witnessing a major transformation with better peace and law and a speedy network, Modi asked individuals to remember the state of peace and law and network in Uttar Pradesh.

The development path the country is on has two aspects at its core - iraada aur maryada' (intent and honour).

He said that not only are we building new facilities, but we are also building the future of the country.

Apart from improving connectivity in the region, the government expects the Bundelkhand Expressway to provide a major boost to economic growth and create thousands of jobs for local people.

Modi laid the foundation stone for the expressway on February 29, 2020, which has been completed in about 28 months.
