2,858 new Covid-19 cases have been reported in India.

In the last 24 hours, 2,858 new Covid-19 cases have been reported in India, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 4.31 crore, according to Union Health Ministry data.

The death toll has risen to 5,24,201 with 11 new deaths.

The top five states with the highest number of new cases were Delhi with 899 cases, Haryana with 439 cases, Kerala with 419 cases, Maharashtra with 263 cases, and Uttar Pradesh with 175 cases.

A total of 3,355 patients have been cured in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cured people across the country to 4,25,76,815.

Previously, the Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMP) and the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) developed India's first indigenous mRNA (messenger RNA) vaccine technology to fight Covid-19.

India has administered a total of 15,04,734 doses in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of doses administered to 1,91,15,90,370. A total of 4,86,628 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
