1,660 new Covid-19 cases and 4,100 deaths in India in the last 24 hours.

According to the latest data released by the Union Health Ministry on Saturday (March 26, 2022), the total number of cases in India has risen to 4,30,18,032 from 1,660 in the last 24 hours.

India has also recorded 4,100 deaths in the last 24 hours as Maharashtra and Kerala added their backward numbers, raising the total death toll to 5,20,855.

The 4,100 new deaths include 4,007 from Maharashtra and 81 from Kerala.

Maharashtra has the highest number of non-Covid deaths (4,005) reported till Friday. State media reports say there have been two new deaths from the virus in the past 24 hours.

The total levels administered under the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination campaign crossed 182.87 crores at 8 am on Saturday.

A total of 6,58,489 Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the country in the last 24 hours, of which 78.63 crore have been tested so far.

The ministry stressed that more than 70 percent of deaths were caused by comorbidities.
