More than 1.79 lakh new Covid cases in India, 146 deaths; Omicron number 4,003.

In India, 1,79,723 new Covid-19 cases were reported on Monday, an increase of 13% over yesterday, while the number of active cases rose to 7,23,619, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.

4,003 Omicron cases in India, with 23 states reporting the new Corona cases. Maharashtra is the worst affected state with 1,216 cases, followed by Delhi with 529 cases.

The death toll rose to 4,83,936 with 146 new deaths, according to data updated at 9am.

In Andhra Pradesh, 1,257 Covid-19 infections and two deaths were reported in the last 24 hours  Sunday morning. 

The number of cases was 12,311 in Bihar and 7,000 in the Patna. More than 350 specialists and medical staff in the state have tried positively, most of them from Nalanda Medical College and Hospital. Some employees of a private carrier working at the Patna airport were also positively tried.

In Gujarat, the number of cases has increased to 6,275 and 1,263 patients have recovered. 26 patients were on ventilator support.

In Kerala, out of 54,108 samples tested in the last 24 hours, 6,238 new cases were reported. The number of active patients in the state has risen to 34,902, of whom 2,538 are receiving moderate or severe Covid treatment in hospitals across the state.

The number of people admitted to the new hospital in Kerala on Sunday was 261, while 2,390 people were reported to have recovered from the disease. The current ICU occupancy of Kovid patients in public and private hospitals in the state is nominally increased to 435 cases, while the number of patients requiring ventilator support increased slightly to 157 on Sunday.
