Drone attack in Abu Dhabi kills 3, including 2 Indians.

Three people, including two Indians, were killed when three fuel tankers exploded in an industrial area near Abu Dhabi International Airport on Monday.

UAE officials said the blasts were suspected to have been caused by drone strikes. There was also a small fire at the construction site at the international airport.

"During the initial investigation, parts of a small plane may have been the drone at both sites of the explosions and the fire," police said in a statement to state news agency WAM.

Abu Dhabi police have identified the dead as two Indians and a Pakistani. It did not identify the injured and said they sustained minor or moderate injuries.

Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthi movement has claimed responsibility for the attack.

A military spokesman for the Yemeni Houthi movement, which has been fighting with military alliances including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, said the group had launched a military operation "deep in the UAE" and would announce details in the coming hours.

The rebels later announced the launch of 'military operations' in the United Arab Emirates.

During the war, the Houthis used bomb-laden drones to carry out crude and inaccurate attacks targeting Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The group fired missiles at Saudi airports, oil facilities and pipelines, and used booby-trapped boats to attack major shipping lanes.

The United Arab Emirates has reduced its military presence in Yemen in 2019, but it continues to be dominated by armed and trained Yemeni forces.

The Houthis have repeatedly carried out cross-border missile and drone strikes on Saudi Arabia and threatened to attack the United Arab Emirates in the past.
