Lockdown to continue in 11 districts, relaxation in Bengaluru, other districts from June 14


Shops selling essential items such as food, medicine, milk, fruits and vegetables will be open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.


While continuing the current locking restrictions in 11 districts with a positive ratio of COVID-19, the Karnataka government on Thursday lifted some of the restrictions imposed in other districts, including Bangalore, from June 14 to 21.


The current locking restrictions will continue from June 14 to 6 am in 11 districts from June 21: Chikmagalur, Sivamoka, Devangare, Mysore, Samarajanagar, Hassan, Dakshina Kannada, Bangalore Rural, Mandya, Belgaum and Kodagu. The announcement was made by Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa after a high-level meeting with ministers and officials.


The Chief Minister said that locking restrictions have been relaxed in 20 districts based on the recommendations of the Technical Advisory Committee. All stores for essentials and food, medicine, milk, fruits and vegetables are still open for four hours - from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. - In these districts. All street vendors will be allowed to sell Monday through 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.


All industries and manufacturing units will be allowed to open with 50% employees, while the garment industry will be allowed to open with 30% employees. All taxis and auto rickshaws will only be allowed to operate with two passengers. Construction activities will be allowed and all shops for construction works such as cement and steel will be open.


For the benefit of morning walkers, all parks in Bangalore and 19 other districts will be allowed to open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Public transportation will not be allowed until June 21st. However, inter-district and inter-state movement will be allowed.
