Out of a total of 185, 53 lakes have been damaged or are vulnerable to incessant rains. Irrigation officials monitoring the city's lakes said all the tanks were making huge revenue after 30 cm of rain fell in the city this week, Irrigation Secretary Rajat Kumar said.

At least 70 people have been killed in floods across the state, half of them or 33 from Hyderabad. In addition, the Greater Hyderabad Corporation (GHMC) said in a statement that a total of 37,409 families have been affected by the floods in Hyderabad.

A five-member ministerial team sent by the central government to assess the flood damage in Telangana on Thursday. The committee, headed by Joint Secretary Praveen Vashishta, met Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar at the State Secretariat to discuss the flood situation and relief efforts in the state.
