Kuwait Emir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah passes away 

Kuwait's 91-year-old Emir Sheikh Sabah has died.

Sheikh Sabah has ruled the country since 2006 and had been its  foregin minister for more than 50 years.

Sheikh sabha underwent surgery in july 2020 for an unspecified medical problem and was flown to the united states for further treatment.

A US Air Force C-17 flying hospital transported Sheikh Sabah from Kuwait to Rochester, Minnesota,home of the flagship campus of the Mayo Clinic.

Earlier this month, Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah said his health was improving.

Sheikh Sabah Khalid al-Hamad al-Sabah told official television, "The latest report from the Kuwaiti medical team with his majesty is, thank God, his superior health is stable and improving."

Unfortunateley Kuwait's Emir  has died , a court has ruled. Sheikh Sabah will be remembered as a peacemaker who was very pragmatic with foreign policy, said Natasha Lindsteid, a professor at the University of Essex.
