ICMR warns that China's Cat Que virus could pose a threat in India




In the midst of the Govt-19 epidemic, India is facing a threat from another Chinese-origin virus ‘Cat Que’.


 After finding evidence of antibodies related to viral strain in India, the ICMR sounded a warning. It has also alerted medical officials. Mysterious Cat Que virus is a type of virus that can infect animals (mosquitoes, pigs, etc.) and humans. 


The virus is said to cause severe symptoms such as high fever, meningitis, and childhood encephalitis, and is commonly found in pigs in China and Vietnam districts.


 The infection is commonly transmitted in poultry and mammals, but it can also be transmitted to humans by mosquitoes and insects.


The Medical Research Council of India has revealed the presence of the Cat Que virus (CQV) in pigs in China and Vietnam. In particular, India is also a breed of Gulex mosquitoes.
