Truth about Russia's covid 19 vaccine

Russia has claimed successful completion of clinical trials of covid 19 vaccine on humans and the results have proven its effectiveness .

If the claim is proven Russia would become the first nation to have completed the clinical trials of a covid 19 vaccine.

Chief Researcher Elena  who heads the center for clinical research on medications at SETI norm University told Russian media yesterday and I quote the research has been completed and it proved that the vaccine is safe unquote.

The university had begun clinical trials of the vaccine produced by Russia's  Gamaleya  Institute of Epidemiology and microbiology on June 18.

The first group of 18 volunteers received the vaccine on June 18 while the second group of 20 volunteers received the vaccine on June 23rd at the practical research center for interventional cardiology section of University.

After vaccination all  volunteers were expected to remain in isolation in a hospital for 28 days the volunters  discharged on July mid.They will remain under medical supervision on an outpatient basis after being discharged.

July 7 the WHO  data shows the only candidates to reached phase 3 trials are Oxford AstraZeneca and sinovacs vaccine based on inactivated Covid 19 patients.

The Russian Reachers not make proper trials.Vaccine by August is not possible but Russia said they are planned to be the first in the world to approve a COVID-19 vaccine by August 10.

In India to two vaccine candidates hat's covaxin by Bharat biotech and Zycov D by Zydus Katella have been given the go-ahead to start human clinical trials for their prototypes. 

There are at least 21 vaccines currently under key trials according to the WHO.
