9 dead, 23 injured in Chhattisgarh truck collision
Nine people, including five women and three children, died in a horrific accident in Bemetara district, Chhattisgarh. Police reported that a goods vehicle and a truck collided on Sunday night. The victims were all in the goods vehicle and were returning home from a family function when the tragedy struck.
The accident took place near Kathiya village on Sunday night. This happened when the vehicle collided with a mini lorry parked on the side of the road,” the police explained.
23 injured have been shifted to hospital for treatment,” said Collector Bemedara Ranveer Sharma.
The names of the eight victims are: Bhuri Nishad (50), Neera Sahu (55), Geeta Sahu (60), Agniya Sahu (60), Khushbu Sahu (39), Madhu Sahu (5), Rikesh Nishad (6), and Twinkle Nishad (6).

The injured individuals were taken to two hospitals. Subsequently, four severely injured patients were transferred to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Raipur.
