Pakistan's second largest naval air base to come under terrorist attack

An armed terrorist attack has targeted PNS Siddique, Pakistan's second-largest naval air base located in Turbat city, Balochistan province. The Balochistan Liberation Army's (BLA) Majeed Brigade has taken responsibility for the assault on the base where the Chinese drones were kept.

Security forces foiled the attack and shot dead at least 6 terrorists.

The attack on Monday night happened around 10 pm in Urbad, a risky area in the thinly populated province.

According to the local newspaper Dawn, Makran Commissioner Saeed Ahmed Umrani said there was intense gunfire and explosions in the area.

Umrani stated, "The armed men attacked from three directions of the airport's perimeter, but security forces quickly responded and stopped them from getting inside."

A security official, speaking anonymously, reported that six terrorists were killed in the operation, and they were not able to harm the airbase or any airplanes. The official mentioned that there were no reports of damage to important naval facilities.

This marks the third significant attack on security forces and installations in Balochistan this year, claimed by the BLA. The security forces successfully defended against the first two attacks as well.

This is the second attack this month by BLA's Majeed Brigade. A similar attack occurred on March 20 in Gwadar, where two soldiers and eight terrorists died during a shootout at the Pakistan Gwadar Port Authority Complex.

Earlier this year (January 29), the Balochistan Liberation Army launched an attack on Mach City.

The BLA has been working actively to achieve independence for Balochistan and has been engaged in numerous violent acts against the state.
