Bomb Threats Cause Panic Among Parents as 44 Schools in Bengaluru Receive Security Alerts

On Friday morning, 44 private schools in Bengaluru got emails saying there were bombs in the buildings. The police are looking into it.

The police were informed right away and are checking the schools for anything suspicious. Teams trained to handle bombs are going to all the schools mentioned, like the ones in Whitefield, Koramangala, Basveshnagar, Yelahanka, and Sadashivanagar.

We are checking where the email came from. We are taking it seriously. I told the police to look into it as a priority, said Karnataka Home Minister G Parmeshwar.

"Even though the calls seem like a prank, the police isn't taking any risks and is doing everything possible to find the people responsible," stated Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dyanand.

"Some schools in Bengaluru got emails this morning about a 'bomb threat.' Teams for checking and dealing with bombs are checking to confirm. The calls seem like pranks, but we're still trying to find those responsible," mentioned Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dyanand on X.

"Because of the bomb threat, a school sent a message to parents. We're facing an unexpected situation at school today. The school got a security threat from unknown sources. Since we care a lot about our children's safety, we've decided to send the students home right away," stated the advisory.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah assured parents, saying, "We've taken precautions, and parents don't need to be worried.

The police will look into it, and I told them to do that. We've increased security, so parents don't have to worry. I've asked the police to check the schools and make security better. They've given me an initial report," Mr. Siddaramaiah mentioned.

One of the schools that received the bomb threat is near Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar's house.

Some troublemakers might be behind this. We'll catch them in 24 hours. The cybercrime police are looking into it and doing their job well. We need to be careful and not forget our cybersecurity measures.
