Russia launches 75 missiles, bombs cities across Ukraine in 'revenge' strikes

Russia fires 75 missiles, Ukraine says amid blasts in cities: 'Many casualties'

According to Kyiv officials, Russia launched at least 75 missiles this morning at targets in several cities in Ukraine.

Bombings took place across the country, including the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipro, and Lviv.

Several loud explosions were heard in the Ukrainian capital around 8.15am local time, as 75 missiles rained down across the country in what appeared to be coordinated attacks on several cities.

At least five people were killed and 12 wounded in Russian missile attacks on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, police said.

General Valeriy Zaluzhny said on social media: "Terrorist Russia launched massive missile and air strikes on the territory of Ukraine, and also used attack drones. In the morning, the aggression launched 75 missiles. 41 of them were shot down by our air defense."

According to the Ukrainform reporter, the Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valery Zalushny, made a statement in this regard on Facebook.

"They (Russia) are trying to destroy us, wipe us off the face of the earth," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said.

“This morning the aggressor has already launched 75 missiles. Forty-one of them were neutralized by our anti-aircraft defense systems,” Zaluzhnyi wrote.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are making every effort to protect civilians. But the enemy attack continues, Zaluzhnyi added.
