Bomb threat to Delhi-bound Moscow flight with 400 passengers, airport on alert




A bomb threat alert email was received on a flight from Moscow to Delhi at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) on Thursday night, officials said.


Following the threat letter, security agencies have been alerted and airport security has been beefed up.


“On Thursday, around 11 pm, arriving at IGI Airport, Russian flight no. A threatening message was received on the social media platform of the IGI control room about the bomb placement in SU-232. However, the flight landed safely at 2.48 am,” said an official.


The official said the plane has been searched and nothing has been found so far and the plane has been quarantined.


A total of 386 passengers and 16 crew were evacuated from the plane.


An investigation is being conducted into this matter. This is not the first time such an incident has taken place.


In the past few weeks, there have been two incidents of alleged bomb threats to flights.
