India has reported 10,256 new infections and 68 deaths in the last 24 hours

10,256 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in India in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Friday.

The death toll rose to 5,27,556 with 68 deaths, including 29 deaths contributed by Kerala, data updated at 8 am showed.

The new deaths include 6 from Maharashtra, 4 each from Rajasthan and Delhi, 3 each from Chhattisgarh and Karnataka, and two each from Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Punjab, and West Bengal.

The active caseload has decreased to 90,707, which is 0.20 percent of the total positive cases in the country.

In the last 24 hours, 13,528 patients have recovered, taking the total to 4,37,70,913.

A total of 4,22,322 tests were conducted across the country, taking the total number to 88.43 crores.

More than 4.01 crore adolescents have been given their first dose of the Covid-19 jab since the vaccination drive for this age group began.

As of Friday morning, India's Covid-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 211.13 crores, achieved through 2,81,13,254 sessions.
