A migrant worker was shot dead by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir

In another heinous act of terrorism, a laborer from Bihar was shot dead by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora district on the night between August 11 and 12.

The attack took place at midnight in the Ajas area of Bandipore district.

The incident took place in Sadunara town in Bandipora's Ajas Tehsil. The departed is identified as Mohd Amrez, son of Mohd Jalil a resident of Bihar.

"In the intervening night, terrorists shot and injured a migrant laborer Mohd Amrez, r/o Madhepura, Besarh, Bihar at Soadnara Sumbal, Bandipora. He was shifted to hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries," tweeted Kashmir Regional Police.

The killing comes a day after three soldiers, including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), were killed in a gunfight after two terrorists tried to carry out a suicide bombing at an army camp in Rajouri. Both the terrorists were killed during the operation.

"Army Chief Manoj Pandey and all sides salute the supreme sacrifice of soldiers who laid down their lives while on duty in Rajouri and express our deepest condolences to the bereaved families," an Army spokesperson tweeted yesterday.

Senior Congress leader Abhishek Singhvi condoled the incident on Twitter, saying, "A Bihari worker shot dead in Kashmir after a series of killings of people who come there for livelihood is a sign that this government has failed on the internal security front. You can't protect your own citizens, can you even claim victory?"
