Mooswala murder: Two killed in Punjab encounter

Two gangsters allegedly involved in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala were killed in an encounter with the Punjab Police near Amritsar in Punjab. It is also said that 3 policemen were injured in this encounter.

The police reportedly engaged 5 thugs allegedly involved in the Sidhu Moosewala murder. A journalist was reportedly injured in the encounter.

Police cordoned off the area after the shooting. Two of the dead gang members have been identified as  Jagroop Singh Roopa and Manpreet Singh alias Mannu Kussa.

Police seized an AK 47 rifle and a pistol from the spot. According to eyewitnesses, the encounter, which started around 10.30 am, ended around 4 pm after ADGP Parmoth Pan reached the spot.

The police cordoned off an area of about 1 kilometer around the house where the two were hiding. Residents were not allowed to leave their homes during the operation. Pan said the police have been chasing them since Mooswala's murder. Police monitored their movement in the border area yesterday.

"Counter hoodlum team workers and Punjab Police followed them when they stayed in a house surrounded by open fields," Pan said, and the police asked them to Surrender.

However, they continued firing. The police waited patiently for several hours before launching a counter-attack, leading to their deaths. Heavy ammunition was used by the goons during the firing. Forensic teams have reached the spot. Also got a bag.

According to the police, Jagrup Rupa and Mannu Khosa belong to Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang. Bhagwanpuria provided two gangs to Lawrence Bishnoi to kill Sidhu Mooswala.

Police have identified six shooters from two blocks involved in his murder. Three of them - Priyavrat Fauji, Kashish, and Ankit Sirsa - were arrested by the Delhi Police's Special Cell. Mannu used AK 47 to shoot Mooswala. Asked whether the AK-47 recovered from the spot was used in Mooswala's murder, Pan said that was part of the investigation.

Police also recovered two mobile phones from the spot. Call details are being scrutinized to find out who helped them.

Kussa and Jagroop were among the undercover shooters in the case.
