India reports 18,815 new Covid cases and 38 deaths in the last 24 hours
The 38 new deaths include 16 from Kerala, eight from Maharashtra, two each from Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal, and one each from Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Meghalaya, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu.
A total of 5,25,343 deaths have been reported in the country so far, including 1,47,964 in Maharashtra, 70,089 in Kerala, and 40,122 in Karnataka, 38,028 in Tamil Nadu, 26,277 in Delhi, 23,545 in Uttar Pradesh, and 21,233 in West Bengal.
Among the new epidemics, maximum cases have been reported in five states namely Maharashtra, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala.
West Bengal reported 2,889 cases, Tamil Nadu reported 2,765 cases and Maharashtra reported 2,678 coronavirus infections in 24 hours.
The active caseload in the country has gone up to 1,22,335. It has increased by 2,878 in the last 24 hours. Yesterday, the number of active cases registered was 1,19,457.
15,899 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours. The total number of recoveries rose to 4,29,37,876.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 86,57,23,159 samples have been tested for Covid-19 till July 7. Of this, 3,79,470 samples were tested on Thursday.

About 17,62,441 doses were administered in India on Thursday, taking the total to 1,98,51,77,962.
