Heavy Rain Alert In Delhi & Mumbai,18 dead in 3 states

After rains in Delhi-NCR provided relief from the heat on Tuesday, the India Meteorological Department has predicted rain-thundershowers in the national capital and adjoining areas this morning (July 13).

In contrast to scanty rainfall in the national capital, monsoon fury has weakened many parts of the country. Heavy rains in Telangana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh have so far claimed 18 lives due to heavy rains and floods.

Thousands of people are reeling from floods and landslides in Karnataka and Assam. In Rajasthan, isolated places in the eastern part of the state received heavy rains while other parts reported light to moderate rains.

In Osmanabad, district officials have asked residents of villages along the Manjara, Terna, and Thawarja rivers to be alert as heavy rain is expected in the region. The catchment areas of the dams on these rivers may receive heavy rains, requiring the release of water from them.

GUJARAT

The IMD has issued a red alert for heavy to very heavy rains in Gujarat's Valsad, Navsari, Surat, Dhabi, Tang, Narmada, Chota Udepur districts, and Saurashtra's Kutch, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Devbhoomi Dwarka, and Morbi districts.

Heavy rains lashed several parts of Gujarat with 6 people killed in rain-related incidents in the last 24 hours, taking the toll to 69 since June 1. TELANGANA

The IMD said on Tuesday that Telangana is likely to receive heavy rainfall at many places for the next three days. Flooding in the southern states for the past 5 days has inundated low-lying areas and waterlogged places in Adilabad, Warangal, and other districts. Streams and other bodies of water overflowed.

Heavy to very heavy rain is likely at one or two places in Jagitayal, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapalli, Mulugu, Bhadradri, kothagudem, Warangal Rural, and Urban districts, the Meteorological Department said.
