India reports 17,073 new cases and 21 deaths in the last 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) said on Monday morning that 17,073 new COVID-19 cases and 21 deaths have been reported in India in the last 24 hours.

The 21 new deaths include 6 from Kerala, 5 from Maharashtra, 4 from Delhi, 2 each from Goa and Punjab, and one each from Jammu and Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh.

15,208 people have recovered in the last 24 hours and the current recovery rate is 98.58%.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 86,10,15,683 samples have been tested up to June 26 for COVID-19. Of these 3,03,604 samples were tested on Sunday.

There are currently 94,420 active cases of COVID-19 in the country. The number of active Covid-19 patients increased by 1,844 cases in 24 hours.

2,49,646 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of vaccines to 1,97,11,91,329.

Of these, 0ver 3.63 crores first doses have so far been given to 12-14-year-olds.
