2,067 new Covid-19 cases reported in India



According to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Wednesday, 2,067 new coronavirus infections were reported in a single day, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases in India to 4,30,47,594, while the number of active cases increased to 12,340.


The death toll has risen to 5,22,006 as 40 new deaths have been reported in Uttar Pradesh, according to data updated at 8 am.


Amid an increase in Covid-19 cases, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has again made it mandatory to wear masks in public places. After the meeting on Wednesday, the violators were fined Rs. The DDMA said a fine of Rs 500 would be imposed. The DDMA has also ordered authorities to launch intensive raids across the city.


Meanwhile, as the number of Covid-19 cases is on the rise in a few states, the Union Health Ministry on Tuesday ordered four states, including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Maharashtra, and Delhi Union Territory of Mizoram, to adhere to the Covid-19 regime. Particular emphasis is placed on wearing masks in congested areas.


 Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan on Tuesday raised the red flag and ordered them to maintain strict surveillance and take precautionary measures in any area of ​​concern to control the spread of the growing infection.


In the last 24 hours, 1,547 Covid patients have recovered from the disease. The total number of recoveries jumped to 4,25,13,248 since the beginning of the pandemic in the country.


The country has conducted more than 83.29 crore Covid tests to date, while 4.21 lakh tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours.


Under the Covid vaccination drive, more than 186.72 crore vaccine doses have been distributed across the country so far.
