Ukraine agrees to peace talks with Russia.
Ukraine said on Sunday that it would hold talks with Russia on its border with Belarus - near the Chernobyl exclusion zone - following an invitation between President Volodymyr Zelensky and Belarus leader Alexander Lukashenko.
"The legislators agreed that the Ukrainian mission would unconditionally meet with the Russians on the Ukraine-Belarus border, near the Pribiat River," Zhelensky's office said.
Zhelensky has said he will not hold talks with Russia in the Belarusian region, where some Russian troops were stationed before the attack on northern Ukraine.
However, Kiev said he had assured Lukashenko Zhelensky that "all planes, helicopters and missiles stationed in the territory of Belarus will be on the ground during the voyage, talks and return of the Ukrainian delegation."
Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that a Russian appointment was presently in the Belarusian city of Gomel.
Moscow wants to hold talks with the Kremlin in Belarus.
Zhelensky refused to go to Minsk and said that Kiev had proposed "Warsaw, Bratislava, Budapest, Istanbul, Baku" as an option for Russia.
On Sunday, the fourth day of the invasion, Ukraine resisted the incursion of Russian troops into its second city, Kharkiv, but Putin kept his nuclear forces alert and raised international warnings.
