India reports 2.34 lakh new Covid-19 cases,893 deaths in 24 hours.

2,34,281 new cases were reported in India on Sunday, bringing the total number of cases to 4,10,92,522. There is a 0.5% decline compared to the number of infections yesterday.

893 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 4,94,091.

Daily infections in Maharashtra, one of the worst-hit states, saw a decline with 27,971 new cases on Saturday. This includes 85 omicron infections. The health department said 61 infectious deaths had been reported in the past 24 hours.

Delhi Recorded  4,483 new COVID-19 cases  on Saturday, with a positive rate of 7.41 per cent and 28 deaths, according to data shared by the city health department.

Kerala logged 50,812 new infections and 8 COVID-19-related deaths on Saturday,  There are 3,33,447 active cases in the state and 1,629 patients are hospitalised. Kerala tested 1,15,898 samples in the last 24 hours.

Karnataka reported 33,337 new Covid-19 cases and 70 deaths on Saturday. In Bangalore alone, 16,586 new infections and 13 deaths were reported. Other districts  cases including 2,431 in Mysuru, 1,278 in Dharwad, 1,192 in Tumakuru, 1,039 in Hassan, 986 in Mandya and 798 in Belagavi.

The top five states with the highest number of 50,812 cases were registered in Kerala, 33,337 in Karnataka, 27,971 in Maharashtra, 24,418 in Tamil Nadu and 11,794 in Gujarat. 63.31% of new cases have been reported. Of these five states, Kerala alone has 21.69% new cases.

India has vaccinated more than 75% of its adults in two doses, Health Minister Mansaukh Mandaviya said on Sunday. India has administered a total of 62,22,682 doses in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of doses administered to 1,65,70,60,692.
