37,379 new Covid cases and 124 deaths in India; Omicron number 1,892.
As many as 37,379 new Covid cases were reported in India on Tuesday, peaking at a peak of 1,71,830 active cases since the beginning of September, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.
There are 1,892 Omicron cases in India, with 23 states exposing the new Covid-19 strain. Maharashtra continues to be the most significantly affected state with 568 cases, lagging behind with 382 cases in Delhi.
The death toll rose to 4,82,017 with 124 new deaths, according to data updated at 9am. Active cases account for 0.49 per cent of the total epidemics, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate is 98.13 per cent, according to the Ministry of Health.
11,007 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the total number of patients recovered is now 3,43,06,414.
India's Covid vaccination coverage has reached 146.70 crore as on Tuesday morning, with 99,27,797 vaccine doses administered in the last 24 hours.
More than 19.69 crore stocks and unused Covid vaccines are yet to be distributed in the states and union territories, the ministry said.
