3.06 lakh new cases and 439 deaths in India.
According to the Union Ministry of Health data updated on Monday, 3.47 lakh new Covid cases have been registered in India, while the number of active cases has risen to 22,49,335, the highest in 241 days.
The death toll rose to 48,98,48 with 439 new deaths, according to data updated at 9am.
In the last 24 hours, 439 people have died due to Covid infection, according to the Ministry of Health. At least 60 percent of patients who die during the current Covid infection are partially or completely unvaccinated.
Maharashtra added 40,805 COVID-19 cases, bringing its total to 75,07,225, while 44 deaths accounted for a total of 1,42,115 deaths. There are 2,550 new COVID-19 cases and 13 deaths reported in Mumbai.
Schools in Maharashtra, including Mumbai, are reopening today for offline classes for students in grades 1 to 12.
Delhi reported 9,197 new cases,with 35 Covid deaths in the last 24 hours.
In the south, 50,210 Covid cases have been reported in Karnataka in the last 24 hours.
The daily Covid curve in Tamil Nadu recorded 30,580 new infections and saw some improvement.
Meanwhile, according to the Co-WIN vaccination portal, the number of vaccines administered in the country has crossed 162-crore. So far over 93 crore first dose and over 68 crore second dose have been given. 4.19 crore youths in the age group of 15-17 years have received the first dose.
