Cyclone Jawad : alert announced in coastal regions of Andhra, Odisha coasts, move towards Bengal.
The cyclone is expected to move over the coasts of northern Andhra Pradesh and southern Odisha on Saturday (December 4) morning and move towards north-northeast West Bengal.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that the deep depression in the south-eastern Bay of Bengal will intensify into a storm in the next six hours.
IMD's latest bulletin, moving at a speed of 30 km per hour, is located 480 km southeast of Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, 600 km southeast of Gopalpur in Odisha, and 700 km southeast of Paradip. Friday at 8.30am.
Once formed, the storm will be called Jawad (pronounced Jowad), named after Saudi Arabia. This is the third hurricane to make landfall on the east coast this year after Hurricane Yaas in May and Gulab in September.
On Friday, the meteorological department forecast heavy to very heavy rains in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha - with an orange warning - and in Bengal. Winds can reach speeds of 80 to 90 km / h and winds of up to 100 km / h. From December 6, the intensity of the rain will decrease and move towards the northeastern regions, which will come under the influence of the hurricane.
