8,439 new Covid-19 cases and 195 deaths in India in the last 24 hours
In the last 24 hours, 8,439 new Covid-19 cases have been registered in India, which is 23.7% more than yesterday. This brings the total caseload to 3,46,56,822.
Kerala has the highest number of cases with 4,656 cases, followed by Tamil Nadu with 710 cases, Maharashtra with 699 cases, West Bengal with 507 cases and Karnataka with 299 cases.
In the last 24 hours, 195 deaths have been reported in the country, bringing the total death toll to 4,73,952.
81.41% of new cases have been reported from these five states and Kerala alone is responsible for 55.17% of new cases.
The highest death toll was recorded in Kerala (134), followed by Maharashtra (19).
India’s recovery rate is now 98.36%. A total of 9,525 patients have been cured in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cured people across the country to 3,40,89,137.
India has delivered a total of 73,62,000 doses in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of doses administered to 1,29,54,19,975. A total of 12,13,130 samples were tested for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
