6,358 new Covid-19 cases in India, 293 deaths in 24 hours; Omicron number 653.

In the last 24 hours, 6,358 new cases of Covid-19 and 293 deaths have been reported in India, the Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday. The government has said that 653 Omicron cases have been reported in India so far.

The number of Covid-19 cases in India has risen to 3,47,99,691 and the number of deaths to 4,80,290, the ministry said.

An updated ministry bulletin on Tuesday morning said more than 186 people had so far recovered from the new variant of Covid disease.

A total of 67.41 crore tests have been conducted so far for Covid detection.

The bulletin further states that 142.47 crore vaccine doses have been delivered in India so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.
