The 20-year-old international traveler who was fully vaccinated became the first Omicron case in Chandigar.

When visiting relatives in Chandigar in December, a man who had been fully vaccinated tested positive, becoming the first person in the city to become the Omicron variant of Covid-19.

He tested Covid negatively today, while five of his seven family members tested positive today, while a result awaits.

A 20-year-old man living in Italy and visiting some relatives in the city was diagnosed with Covid-19 on December 1. He is isolated from that. His swap samples were sent to the NCTC in New Delhi for genetic sorting.

The traveler took the Pfizer vaccine in Italy and is asymptomatic.

"He was fully vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine he received in Italy. He has been isolated for the past 11 days," the administration said in a statement.

He was subjected to a second test on Sunday, the report said."If he tests negative, he will be placed under house isolation for seven days, and if positive, institutional isolation will continue until his report turns negative," management had previously said.

The Chandigar Health Department further encouraged those eligible for antibodies to quickly vaccinate themselves and asked the general public to adhere to the Covid tradition, for example, the masks and social distancing.
