2 Terrorists were killed in Pulwama
Two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LED) militants, including one behind the killing of a policeman, were killed on Saturday in Pulwama, south Kashmir.
Umer Mushtaq Khanday, a top LED commander, was killed along with an accomplice in a gun battle in Pampore (Pulwama). The bodies were recovered from the rubble after an eight-hour search, ”said Inspector General of Police Vijaykumar.
According to the Kashmir Zonal Police, the items including weapons and ammunition were recovered by the security forces.
The encounter erupted when the area was cordoned off by a joint team of police, the army and the Central Reserve Police Force, which received a specific input.
Police said the terrorists who were killed in a recent civilian killing of a chemist and two teachers in Srinagar were also collaborators.
