18,454 new Covid-19 cases have been reported in India in the last 24 hours; 26.2% more than yesterday



India has reported 18,454 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, 26.2 per cent more than yesterday. With the new cases, the country's total caseload has now risen to 3,41,27,450, according to data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare early Thursday.


In the last 24 hours, 160 deaths have been reported in the country, bringing the total death toll to 4,52,811.


Meanwhile, India on Thursday reached the 100 crore Covid-19 vaccine milestone. In a tweet, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya congratulated him on the achievement and said it was the result of the efficient leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.


The top five states with the highest number of cases were Kerala, 11,150 cases, Maharashtra 1,825 cases, Tamil Nadu 1,170 cases, West Bengal 867 cases and Mizoram 741 cases.


Out of these five states, 85.37 per cent new cases have been reported and Kerala alone is responsible for 60.42 per cent of new cases.


Kerala has the highest death toll (82), followed by Maharashtra with 21 deaths.


A total of 17,561 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recovery across the country to 3,34,95,808.


India has delivered a total of 48,08,665 doses in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of doses to 99,85,38,075.


A total of 12,47,506 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
