India has reported 28,326 new Covid -19 cases and 260 deaths in the last 24 hours

India on Sunday announced an increase in its active Covid-19 cases and deaths, according to the latest data from the Union Ministry of Health. India has seen an increase of 2,034 active cases in a day. Currently, the number of active cases in India stands at 3,03,476, which is 0.90% of the total caseload.

In the last 24 hours, 260 deaths have been reported in the country, bringing the total death toll to 4,46,918.

Kerala recorded the highest number of 16,671 cases, followed by Maharashtra with 3,276 cases, Tamil Nadu with 1,724 cases, Mizoram with 1,478 cases and Andhra Pradesh with 1,167 cases.

About 85.85 per cent new cases have been reported from these five states, with Kerala alone accounting for 58.85 per cent of new cases.

The highest death toll was recorded in Kerala (120), followed by Maharashtra with 58 deaths.

A total of 26,032 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recovery nationwide to 3,29,02,351.

A total of 14,88,945 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
