27,176 new Covid-19 cases and 284 deaths reported in India

India has registered 27,176 new coronavirus infections, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 33,16,755, while the number of active cases has dropped to 3,51,087, the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday.

According to the Union ministry of health and family welfare, the death toll has risen to 4,43,497 with 284 daily deaths.

The active cases accounted for 1.05 per cent of the total infections and the National Covid-19 recovery rate was 97.62 per cent, the ministry said.

Meanwhile, a further 38,012 people were discharged in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 32,52,2171.

So far, 54.60 crore samples have been tested for Covid-19. 75.89 crore under the nationwide vaccination scheme. Vaccine doses are given to date.
