Chaotic scenes unfolded at Kabul airport after the Taliban captured the Afghan capital. There was confusion with the crowd of citizens at the airport and the lack of security. Passengers were also seen waiting in long queues at the airport's tarmac in hopes of leaving the country soon.

Ashraf Ghani and Vice President Amrullah Saleh fled to Tajikistan on Sunday after the Taliban surrounded the Afghan capital, Kabul. This happened when representatives of the three sides of the Afghan government, the Taliban and the United States sat in Doha, Qatar to discuss the transfer of power.
The United States is believed to have kept a 'word' from the Taliban that it will not force entry into Kabul until the safety of Gani-led government officials and U.S. citizens is protected. The latest Doha talks began on Friday. The Taliban entered Kabul after the Afghan capital, Ghani, and Saleh fled.
