The Taliban are banning music, female voices on television and radio channels in Kandahar

This comes after some media outlets removed their female announcers after the Taliban captured Afghanistan on August 15. Local media in Kabul reported that several female employees had been asked to withdraw from their jobs.

However, the Taliban promised to allow women to continue working and study under Islamic law.

Contrary to the promises made by the Taliban, local media reports show that women are beginning to face problems in their daily lives.

In the past, the Taliban were known to treat women cruelly, including covering their heads and accompanying a male family member every time they left their home.
