Mysterious fever kills 6 in UP; 80 people have been admitted to the hospital in several places
Six people, including five children, have died of the mysterious flu in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, in the past week. According to details, deaths have been reported from the city’s Konh village. About 80 people have been admitted to various hospitals in Mathura, Agra and Bharatpur in Rajasthan.
Two children, Sevak (9) and Honey (6), died at the hospital on Monday, health officials said.
They had a high fever. Others who died after reporting with similar symptoms were Ruchi (19), Avanish (9), Romia (2) and Rekha (1).
Chief medical officer Dr. Rachna Gupta said that a team of doctors entered the village and took samples for disease like diagnosis of malaria, dengue and Covid from the patients admitted in the hospital and they also collected samples from their relatives.
The cause of death is not yet clear, and officials said there is a possibility of dengue fever because their blood platelets were found to be low with fever.
"The village was sprayed with pesticides and even fog was conducted. The villagers were asked to immediately report to the hospital if they had the flu or any symptoms."
