COVID-19: India records over one lakh new cases in single day  



Corona virus cases in India have risen to a daily high of 1,03,558 new infections, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 1,25,89,067, according to the Federal Ministry of Health.


The one-day increase in cases was higher than the previous peak of 97,894 infections reported on September 17 last year, which was unprecedented. The death toll rose to 1,65,101 with 478 daily new deaths.


Last year, it took 76 days for a single day of corona virus cases in India to reach 97,894 from the then peak of 20,000. However, this time the increase in daily events has come at a very rapid pace for 25 days (March 10 to April 4) to cross the severe milestone of one lakh epidemics.


For the 26th day in a row, active cases have risen to 7,41,830, accounting for 5.89 per cent of the total epidemics, while the recovery rate has dropped to 92.80 per cent.


The active caselot on February 12 was 1, 35,926, which is 1.25 per cent of the total infections.


The number of survivors rose to 1,16,82,136, while the death toll fell further to 1.31 percent.
