Cyclone Nivar in Tamilnadu

 Cyclone Nivar Updates : 



The Indian Meteorological Department has forecast a severe landslide between Nivar Puducherry beach and Tamil Nadu coast from 8 pm to midnight on Wednesday.


Tamil Nadu has already declared tomorrow a public holiday, while Section 144 has been imposed in Pondicherry for the next three days.


The cyclone is likely to move northwest and cross the Karaikal-Mamallapuram coast at noon on Wednesday, the Regional Meteorological Office in Chennai said. Villupuram, Cuddalore, Pondicherry and Chennai are expected to be one of the worst affected areas.


Nivar has been stagnant for the past three hours, according to Hurricane Live Tracker. Previously, it was moving at a speed of 5 km per hour.


Meanwhile, Disaster Management Commissioner K Kannababu said the Andhra Pradesh government had alerted all district officials and sent National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and SDRF teams to Nellore amid heavy rains in parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema Said.
