11 people were killed and more than 60 were Injured in the Madhya Pradesh Fireworks Factory Explosion
A fire erupted in a fireworks factory in Harda, Madhya Pradesh, leading to the tragic loss of 11 lives and injuries to 60 people. The blaze caused multiple explosions, creating fear and chaos in the surrounding areas.
An official mentioned that the injured individuals have been quickly taken to the hospital, and some are in serious condition. The explosions were so powerful that residents in the nearby Seoni Malwa area of Narmadapuram district reported feeling tremors.
The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, talked to officials to get information about the incident. In a message on X, the Chief Minister mentioned that Minister Uday Pratap Singh and senior officials are heading to Harda. He also said that medical colleges in Bhopal and Indore are preparing for patients with burns. Additionally, more fire engines are on their way to the location.
A video of the event displays big flames and smoke rising from the factory. On the nearby road, people can be seen running away in fright as loud blasts echo through the air.
Fire trucks have arrived at the location, and efforts are underway to control the flames. District Collector Rishi Garg mentioned, "Rescue operations are in progress, and we have requested the National Disaster Response Force to assist.
A worker from the factory, who got away when the fire started, mentioned that around 150 workers were at the site when the incident occurred.
Speaking to the public, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav stated that more than 50 ambulances were dispatched to the location. Additionally, Minister Ranvendra Pratap Singh, DG Home, and about 400 police officials have also headed to the accident site.
The chief minister also shared that the families of those who passed away will receive Rs 4 lakh as a support fund. Additionally, individuals who were injured will be offered free medical treatment.
PM Modi said that Rs 2 lakh from PMNRF will go to the families of each person who passed away, and those who are injured will receive Rs 50,000.
