OYO Founder's Father Dies Days After Son's Wedding, Falls From 20th Floor

OYO founder Ritesh Agarwal's father fell to his death from a Gurgaon building days after his son's wedding.

According to police, Oyo Rooms founder Ritesh Agarwal's father Ramesh Agarwal died this afternoon after falling from a high-rise in Gurugram, Haryana. Around one o'clock in the afternoon, they were informed by DLF security that someone had fallen from the 20th floor of DLF's The Crest society in Sector 54, Gurugram.

According to media reports, the accident took place around 1 pm on Friday. Ramesh Aggarwal fell from the balcony of his flat, police said. His wife, son, and daughter-in-law were in the flat at the time. No suicide note was found nor did the family report the death.

"He was taken to Paras Hospital for treatment. A team along with SHO Sector 53 visited the spot. On inspection of the incident site, the fallen person was identified as Ramesh Barsad Agarwal.

Ramesh Agarwal's body was handed over to his family after post-mortem.

Ritesh Agarwal has released a statement after his father's death.

With a heavy heart, my family and I would like to share that our guiding light and strength, my father, Shri Ramesh Agarwal, passed away on 10 March. He lived a full life and inspired me and so many of us, every single day. His death is a tremendous loss for our family. My father’s compassion and warmth saw us through our toughest times and carried us forward. His words will resonate deep in our hearts. We request everyone to respect our privacy in this time of grief."
