17,070 new Covid cases and 23 deaths were reported in India in the last 24 hours



17,070 new cases were reported in India, raising the number to 4,34,69,234 in the country, according to data shared by the Union Health Ministry on Friday.


The death toll rose to 5,25,139 with 23 new deaths, the Ministry of Data updated at 8 p.m.


The 23 new deaths include 15 from Kerala, three from Maharashtra, and one each from Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, and West Bengal.


Kerala topped the list with 4,083 cases, followed by Maharashtra with 3,640 cases, Tamil Nadu with 2,069 cases, West Bengal with 1,524 cases, and Karnataka with 1,046 cases.


The number of active COVID-19 cases has now increased to 1,07,189 (1 lakh 7 thousand 1 hundred and 89). There was an increase of 2,634 patients in the active caseload in 24 hours.


A total of 14,413 patients have been cured in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cured people across the country to 4,28,36,906.


According to the Medical Research Council of India (ICMR), 5,02,150 (5 lakh 2 thousand 1 hundred and 50) Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours.


These five states account for 72.42 percent of the new cases, with Kerala alone accounting for 23.92 percent of the cases.


India has delivered a total of 11,67,503 doses in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of doses administered to 1,97,74,71,041.
